Most students, black and white go through 12 years of school learning very little about Black History beyond the fact that we were slaves. Students know little of the significant political, social and scientific contributions African Americans have made in the building of America. This lack of knowledge leads most whites to a false sense of superiority and black children to a sense of inferiority. Black History is American history and until it is incorporated in all American History classes for all grade levels, we will continue to have a lack of understanding and respect of African Americans. What do you think?

Since Jesus was a Jew, and from the Middle east, I would have to say he was most likely dark skinned, but I also believe that Jesus is how you perceive him to be.

1954 Brown vs. Board....should have been a great achievement, and it was. The only problem was that they integrated the people, but not the curriculum. They put Black children in white schools, but they didn't bring along Black studies/history with them. Now you have several generations of Black folk that haven't even read Souls of Black Folk and know nothing about what they came from. I say either fight harder for Black history to be taught in schools, or start our own private Black elementary schools sponsored with money from corporations and Black entertainers. Instead of buying ice grills and houses to be shown on "MTV Cribs" sponsor a Black child's education!

I believe in Jesus Christ. So it really doesn't matter what color he is, but we all know that he is a Jew. I worship him in spirit and in truth and not because he black but because he's the Lord.(the one in charge).

When is Native American History Month? How about German History Month? We are in Latin History Month right now but when is Japanese History Month? Where is the Creole History Month or Alaskan History Month? Hey the Jews were slaves for thousands of years and almost exterminated in Europe. Is there a Jewish History month? (Honestly I don't know). Should we have a Catholic History month? Since we are pissing off the Muslims why don’t we give them a history month? We are all Americans, the largest melting pot in the world. So why do we isolate our cultures? Shouldn’t we concentrate being Americans and leave our original cultural teachings inside the home? Then share our cultures with friends and strangers (that are interested) that we meet? There are not enough months in the year to cover ALL the nationalities that make up this great nation. SO WHO do we EXCLUDE? Think about it THAT!!

That's a good question.

Katie your question and what's
implied behind it exemplifies
how the lack of Black History
being integrated in the teaching
of American history, presupposes
that it is separate and irrelevant
when American children are taught
how this country and its
capitalistic system was founded
and built. As for Native American
History, I agree with you, it
too should be taught.
Especially America's historical
mistreatment of the American Indian.
Creole History is American History
since Creoles are a mixture of black,
white and French people. Alaskan
History certainly should be taught in Alaska, were it is most relevant.
And if you don't know, the
Japanese and Germans had nothing
to do with the founding and building
of this country in it early days.
Since you decided to post your comments on BlackJesus.com you are obviously, if not somewhat reluctantly seeking the truth.
Thanks for posting your thought.
