At least five LAPD officers are under investigation in the death of a woman who suffocated while being taken into custody, police officials confirmed Thursday. The altercation in front of her apartment was captured by a patrol car's video camera.

NEW YORK CITY — Authorities have identified Darrius Kennedy, 51, of Hempstead as the man shot and killed by New York City police officers during a confrontation in Midtown on Saturday. Police say Kennedy was carrying an 11-inch knife along 7th Avenue at around 3 p.m. and repeatedly ignored orders to drop the weapon and surrender to police. Police say Kennedy then lunged at officers with the knife, forcing them to shoot him. FiOS1's Hanan Kamal reports. August 1, 2012
