Black Jesus is searched for online thousands of times per day. Is Jesus Black if you apply the 1% drop of Black blood rule? Why does Jesus continue to be portrayed as white, blond and blue eyed, when there is scientific, biblical and geographic proof that he was a man, Bible - Revelation 1:14 says, the color of brass with woolly hair? Why do so many people refuse to acknowledge this truth? What does this cover up have to do with the problems of race and skin color throughout the world and especially in America, UK, South Africa, Australia, Brazil, Mexico, India, Asia, Nigeria and Cuba? Let us talk honestly. We can all debate the various shades of color that Jesus could have been. But despite the white image of Jesus that's been falsely promoted globally for centuries, Jesus, also know as Yeshua, was not white. "Black Jesus" is searched for over 950,000 times a month, so clearly others are seeking the truth. Help spread this conversation world wide, by following BlackJesuscom on Twitter. As deaths from heart disease and many types of cancers have dipped, living longer is putting more people at risk for Alzheimer's disease, the brain-wasting condition that a new report shows African-Americans and Hispanics are particularly vulnerable to as they grow older.
According to the Alzheimer's Association's report released today, "2010 Alzheimer's Disease Facts and Figures," 5.3 million people are living with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia. African Americans are almost twice as likely as whites to have Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, and Hispanics are about one and a half times more likely to be stricken with it.
Currently there is little information about how Alzheimer's Disease affects African-American families. Research conducted by the Alzheimer's Association indicates there are many instances where families insulate themselves and resist reaching for help.
Hosted by Richard Steel, Facing Alzheimer's takes an informative, compassionate and in-depth look at the issues African-American caregivers face when confronting Alzheimer's.
Maria Carrillo, the Alzheimer's Association's senior director of medical and scientific relations, says higher rates of diabetes and heart disease in the African-American and Hispanic communities probably are linked to increased rates of dementia.
Carrillo, who has Hispanic roots and whose mother-in-law has Alzheimer's, says a lack of awareness of community health resources deters disease education and prevention measures, and cultural attitudes, including respect for the elderly (not questioning the authority of a senior even if he or she exhibits symptoms of dementia) can be roadblocks to early diagnosis and treatment.
Many people do not realize they have the power early on to reduce their risk of developing dementia, says Alzheimer's expert Steven DeKosky, senior vice president and dean of the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
"Exercise, watch your lipids (cholesterol) and blood pressure and abdominal girth," DeKosky says. "Exercise your brain, stay active, challenge yourself with puzzles like sudoku. Don't do just passive sorts of things."
Many are also not aware that medications can help with the symptoms, says Carrillo, who points out that for every person with Alzheimer's, one or more caretakers are juggling that patient's increasing health needs as the disease progresses. (Alzheimer's patients live an average of four to six years and as many as 20.) She worries about caretakers' health and stress levels, too.
DeKosky notes that medical centers struggle to find early-Alzheimer's patients to participate in drug studies, and that research has slowed.
According to the new report, which examined data from 2000 to 2006, deaths from Alzheimer's increased by 46% compared with heart disease deaths, which dropped by 11%; breast cancer deaths, which decreased by nearly 3%; and prostate cancer deaths, which dropped by nearly 9%.
DeKosky says that even though families may suspect a loved one has dementia, they may be less likely to visit the doctor because they know there's no cure. "We will be greatly helped when there are more powerful medications, when we can make life better for abuela," he says.
Early Alzheimer's can manifest itself in different ways, says Darby Morhardt of Northwestern University's Alzheimer's Disease Center in Chicago. Though everyone occasionally blanks, some lapses are more cause for concern.
I have to be honest . I was one of those critics of Tavis Smiley’s determination to hold his recent Black Agenda event focusing in on the challenging issues facing Black America. But sometimes God has a way of speaking through people to get his message out.
There was a great deal of factual and compelling information presented at this event that needs to be shared and not through the lens of the media, especially the words of Minister Louis Farrakhan.
"We have come up with agendas, but we keep looking to the wrong people to fulfill our agenda. When are we going to stop begging white people to do for us what we have the power to do for ourselves."

For smoother viewing push the start button, then push stop allowing the red line to fill into the far right. Then hit start again.
Since I was not at this event, I don't know if there was a suggested action plan. But I think Black people can take 3 immediate steps toward self empowerment.
Step One:
Immediately take control of our children, letting them know that we love them but as a parent we will accept no less than their best. Know where they need help academically and seek out what ever resouces there are to bring them up to grade level in math, reading and writing. Make it required reading for the family to begin learning about Black History and the true lineage of Jesus Christ. This will greatly improve your child's self image against the constant barage of negative media images.
Step Two:
Buy Black when ever and where ever you can. All other minority groups understand the need to support their own. It creates jobs and spures the growth of more business within their own communtiies. Identify any Black owned hair care or food products you can buy. Do not spend money with any business where you see no Black employees.
Step Three:
Demand that our churches (congregation) be accountable. The church community should offer help to all members of the congregation who are in immediate need. The church should be open daily to our children and families. Start holding banquets in our own churhes, using Black caterers instead of giving our hard earned dollars to major hotels.
If you have any further suggestions please feel free to add them.
House Republican leader's John Boehner's final "Hell no, you can't" angry and profane rant on Sunday (Mar. 21, 2010) against President's Obama's Health Care Plan is now infamous.
Here's the latest mash-up of will.i. am's video with Boehner's profanity to illustrate the division between the Republican and Democratic parties. Not to mention a lack of class and manners.
"Hell -- No" does signify a frightening and depressing Republican movement to stop change and halt Obama's reforms, recommendations and appointees.
"No" Republicans have voted for health care reform or for financial reform in the Senate banking committee.
Just over a week ago, Tea Party protestors hurled racial and homophobic slurs and spat at members of Congress.1 That was followed by a rash of vandalism and death threats targeting Democratic members of Congress.2
Republicans have done almost nothing to tamp down this dangerous atmosphere and have even egged the protesters on. And when the Republican National Committee was asked to endorse a bi-partisan “civility” statement that would send a message to the protesters, they refused.3
It's time to demand that Republican leaders stop turning a blind eye to violence and hate before it gets out of control and someone gets hurt. Please click below to add your voice, and please ask your friends and family to do the same: ColorOfChange.org
Since the passage of health care reform last week, at least 10 members of Congress have received threats and requested additional police presence.4 Windows and doors were smashed at several representatives' offices, and a gas line was cut at what vandals thought was the house of Congressman Tom Perriello.5 One office had to be evacuated when it received a threatening letter filled with an unidentified white powder.6
Meanwhile, some Republicans have tried to justify the vandalism or blame Democrats for inviting it on themselves,7,8 and others have escalated their use of violent rhetoric. Sarah Palin told her supporters "Don't Retreat, Instead - RELOAD!", and published a map with cross-hairs over the districts of some Democrats who voted for health care reform.9 RNC Chairman Michael Steele said "let's start getting Nancy [Pelosi] ready for the firing line this November."10
Last Saturday's protest and this week's past events are just the most recent example of the intolerance and hate coming from right-wing extremists this past year. At times it's been instigated by Republican leaders. When not, it's usually condoned and seen as part of a strategy to score politically. Either way, it's completely unacceptable and has to stop.
We're calling on RNC Chair Michael Steele, House Minority Leader John Boehner, and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to publicly do two simple things:
Unequivocally condemn bigotry and hate among their supporters, and make clear that those who embrace it have no place in their party.
Make clear that they will not tolerate fear-mongering and coded appeals to racism from officials in the Republican party, at any level.
The Tea Party movement has been marked by racially inflammatory and violent outbursts since its inception a year ago.11 GOP leaders are trying to pass off last weekend's assaults on Congressmen Lewis, Cleaver, Clyburn and Frank as isolated incidents. But when so-called "isolated incidents" crop up again and again, a pattern starts to emerge. The examples are numerous
At rallies held to protest tax day last year, Tea Partiers carried signs that announced "Obama's Plan: White Slavery," "The American Taxpayers are the Jews for Obama's Oven," and "Guns Tomorrow!"12 The Republican National Committee had endorsed the rallies, and RNC Chairman Michael Steele encouraged Tea Partiers to send a "virtual tea bag" to President Obama and Democratic Congressional leadership.13 After reports of the fear-mongering signs surfaced, Steele did nothing to distance his party from the lunatic fringe. He has even gone so far as to say that if he didn't have his current position, he'd be "out there with the tea partiers."14 Some Republican governors even planned a "Tea Party 2.0" for the following month in an effort to build on the rallies' momentum.15
The Tea Party's venomous rhetoric picked up steam over the summer, when angry mobs flooded town hall meetings legislators had organized as sites for rational, civil debate on health care reform. After one meeting in Atlanta, a swastika was painted on the office of Congressman David Scott (D-GA), who had also received a flier addressed to "nigga David Scott."16 Some protesters showed up at town hall meetings carrying guns, including at least one man who was armed at an event where the President was speaking.17 Again, Republicans responded to these tactics with silence, doing nothing to denounce them.
Similarly, there was no public outcry from Republican leadership when Mark Williams, a leader of the Tea Party movement, was exposed for having described the President as "an Indonesian Muslim turned welfare thug and a racist in chief" on his blog.18 Instead, members of the GOP continued to show up to and endorse Tea Party rallies. And as recently as Sunday -- the day that the historic health care bill passed the House -- Republican members of the House riled up the same Tea Party crowd that had earlier harassed their fellow members with hate and bigotry.
Despite all of this, Republican leaders have courted the Tea Party movement while methodically supporting, exacerbating and exploiting their fear and anger for cynical political ends.19
Our country deserves better than this. No matter what party one supports, we should all take strong action to support civil, honest, and respectful public debate.
Can you take a moment to call on Michael Steele, John Boehner, and Mitch McConnell to denounce the racist rhetoric and fear-mongering of the Tea Party movement, and tell those who embrace these divisive and un-American beliefs that they have no place in their party? And when you do, please ask your family and friends to do the same:
The History Channel recently featured a special that uses propped up science to bolster a lie that the Schroud of Turnin that depicts Jesus as white, is real, there for Jesus must have been white, blond and blue eyed.
Despite all of the undisputed scientific proof and biblical facts showing otherwise, here's another example of the insidiousness of white supremacy at work in the media.
The History Channel has shown what people of color and especially Black people have seen through out history, the desire by some not to let the facts get in the way of their version of history.
